I'm Neelaka, a UI/UX designer and web developer based in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

I work end to end: research and wireframes in Figma through to production interfaces built in React and Astro. That full-stack perspective means nothing gets lost between design and development, and the final product holds up exactly as intended.

I've worked across SaaS, e-commerce, corporate, and non-profit projects, with a consistent focus on accessibility, performance, and clean, maintainable code.

How I work

My Process

Discover

Deep-dive into the brief, user needs, and competitive landscape. User interviews, surveys, and observations build empathy maps and personas that keep real people at the center. Questions first, assumptions last.

Define

Synthesise findings into a clear direction. Problem statements, user stories, and journey maps pin down exactly what needs solving. Success metrics and constraints are set before a single pixel is placed.

Design

Competitive audits surface opportunities, then rapid sketching and "How Might We" exercises open the solution space. Low-fidelity wireframes map structure; high-fidelity Figma prototypes bring it to life. Iterate fast, validate early.

Deliver

Usability studies put prototypes in front of real users before a line of code is written. Findings feed back into earlier phases until the product feels obvious. Then: production build, developer handoff, and post-launch refinement. The work is not done until it works.
